FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minneapolis, MN, September 21, 2017 – Magni Global Asset Management LLC (Magni) congratulates board member Stephen B. Young for his inclusion in Palgrave-MacMillan’s recent publication of a set of essays on Qur’anic Principles for Good Governance.
Mr. Young is global executive director for the Caux Round Table (CRT), an international network of business leaders working to promote a morally and sustainable way of doing business. The CRT believes that its Principles for Responsible Business provide necessary foundations for a fair, free and transparent global society.
“My essay considers what might have happened if companies such as Enron and financial services firms such as Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers had managed their business models in alignment with core Qur’anic principles of good governance,” explains Young. “In short, I conclude that following Qur’anic concepts would have protected them against failure and collapse.”
The book of essays was edited principally by Professor Abdullah Al-Ahsan, a Muslim academic and professor of Comparative History in the Department of History and Civilization, International Islamic University Malaysia. The essays, as a collection, take an important step forward in setting forth social zones of coherence between global challenges in finance, family dynamics and sustainability, and Islam as a constructive presence in our modern globalizing civilization.
